Whenever we watch Seahawks’ games at home and they score a touchdown, my husband and I each raise both our arms straight up in the air, the official signal for a TD, but adding twists back and forth, rather than loudly celebrating.
We began doing this when we had our first bird, Cato, a lutino cockatiel, who was easily startled. Piper is much less skittish, but out of habit and muscle memory, Mister Rain and I still excitedly acknowledge six points, and the extra one, in this way.
As soon as our arms go up in the air, Piper squawks, continuing to do so until we put our arms back down. He may not know why he is cheering, but Piper is a team player.
GO HAWKS!
