Piper loves Nutri-Berries*. He holds them one-handed, for long periods of time, in no hurry, savoring every morsel. He has no intention of giving it up. I have tried to playfully pull one of these snacks away from him, but Piper has a surprisingly powerful grip for a little bird, especially when he feels strongly about something.
Piper’s little foot wrapped around his treat is enough to undo me. The love I feel for him can throw me off balance, but then I look at him. Whether he is on one leg or two, as long as he is content and happy, I am easily able to regain my own footing.
