Sometimes when I am cleaning the grate that goes in the bottom of Piper’s mansion, he likes to “help”, climbing up its rows to hang out for a bit. It slows me down but how can I feel that way with this cuteness?
There are many times when Piper just wants to sit on my hand for long periods of time. I find myself stressing about all the things I should be doing instead, then I stop myself. What could be more important than spending time with this guy? As busy as I am, Piper has his own agenda of play, preening, eating and relaxing. I wonder if he feels that I am interrupting his day, but that he should grant me some moments of his full schedule?
Whoever is offering whoever the pleasure of their company, the end result is the same. A bonding respite from the daily grind, a reminder to both of us how much we love each other, how lucky we are to have found each other . . . and how one of us provides the other with the “help” they so desperately need.
