Have you ever tried to lay back in a Jacuzzi or a soaking tub but are unable to do so because your legs are too short to touch the far side of the tub, therefore, you slide right down into the water when you attempt to get comfortable?
I love a good soak but often when I travel I am unable to enjoy the very inviting tubs that I encounter. Thinking it over in preparation for a beautiful new tub installed during a renovation of a home we rent every year, I had an idea. What if I got a small beach ball and took that along with me? It would travel flat and I could blow it up (meaning my husband could blow it up) once we arrived at our destination. Inflating the ball to the fullness I need in order to give me the inches required for my legs to reach the other side, I could comfortably lay back against the ball and finally relax in a soaking tub. I felt like a bit of a genius when I first tried it and it worked just as I had hoped.
Though the plan was a great success, I could not miss the opportunity to also sit sideways in the tub so that I could look out the new large windows at the surrounding trees and Puget Sound. Although a good bath at home can seem like a mini-vacation, in this gorgeous tub in Port Orchard, Washington, there was no mistaking that I was on VACATION.
And I have the beach ball to prove it.
