When we brought Piper home from the rescue where he had been for two years, I still had my full sight. As we prepared to leave with him, we decided to place him on the passenger seat in his travel carrier while my husband drove, with me in the back seat. This way we both could watch Piper. We didn’t know how he would do during the 90 minute drive. It quickly became obvious that there was no reason for concern. He loved it.
We try to take him for rides when the weather permits, when either both of us go or Mister Rain has a stop to make on his own that keeps him close to our SUV. Recently, Piper accompanied his daddy to the farm stand we frequent, (“The Peaches Of My Eye”), sending me the photo you see above this story.
Having unloaded groceries earlier that day, my husband left a case of water behind for the sole purpose of setting Piper (in his carrier) atop it so he could better look out the front windshield.
There is spoiled and then there is spoiled. But more than anything, there is love.
