I will never be a Kardashian, nor will I ever have much in common with them. I am, however, not against shameless plugging. When my husband gifted me with Sister Rain t-shirts for Christmas, “A Little Sight, A Lot Of Heart And A Bunch Of T-Shirts“, I was so excited. But it is winter so I will not be able to wear one until it warms up. Then I thought about a beanie, which I often don in the colder months, but I had difficulty finding a close color match to Sister Rain blue. Amazon, of all places, had the best shade. It was as easy as purchasing any item they offer, with just a few extra clicks to attach the artwork. The hat was only $3.99. I wil admit, my expectations were low.
When it arrived via a quick slow boat nine days later, I was very happy with the final product. The logo is not embroidered, instead it is printed on the beanie, so I don’t know how long it will last with a lot of use. I am not out in the elements very often, so I am not concerned.
Sometimes I wear it around the house, hipster that I (think I) am. I tell myself it is a uniform of sorts, hopefully prompting brilliant story ideas and heartfelt writing.
Working at the dining room table the other day, Mister Rain walked by. “You look like a thug,” he teased, referring to my hat. “That’s because,” I explained, “Sister Rain is a badhat.”
I said it in jest, but I hope that Sister Rain and I both have a little badhat in us. Not the rough, mean-tempered troublemaker definition but the strong, confident, determined and courageous meaning.
Do you have a little badhat in you?
