I am able to see images and text much better on the iPad than I am with my eyes. It has something to do with the bright and light and, of course, the fact that I can enlarge everything. Enlargement is key!
It is sometimes surprising when I look at things on my tablet because there is such a contrast with how my damaged optic nerves perceive the world. And nothing demonstrates this more than photos of Piper. on the iPad.
I am aware of Piper’s beautiful coloring, which is always quickly confirmed when I am able to see him in electronic form, but looking at him with just my own anatomy, I am unable to see any of the variations of green nor the orange spot on his forehead. Studying this image of Piper on the screen, I wasn’t sure what to focus on first.
His dinosaur feet?
His feathery pantaloons?
His open beak with just the tiniest peek of his rubbery tongue?
Piper is the sum of his parts. The most attractive aspect of him is what’s inside. Being able to match his physical appearance with his personality, which I don’t have to be able to see to know, is a treat.

Piper’s little legs are so strong, as is his mental fortitude.

He doesn’t speak English, but Piper always speaks up for himself.
I have never been great at math, but Piper equals Piper.
