While I am constantly checking on Piper to be sure that all is well with him as he plays independently during the day, he is invariably keeping an eye on me as well. By no means is Piper clingy, he is very happy to do his own thing. I interact with him often, but we both also go about our day with a comfortable, secure awareness of each other.
It is my job to take care of Piper, not vice versa. And yet this 100-gram parrot has his own way of looking after me.
