Getting Old Is Not For Sissies-ter Rain

Posted on December 7, 2016December 7, 2016 By Sister Rain

I have been waking up at 5 a.m. and therefore am falling asleep at 7:30 at night. Headed for bed last evening at 8:00 I realized that I am by all in-house accounts, old and decrepit. Every day a new ache or pain joins the grunt and groan inducing discomforts.

If the early bird gets the worm, I’m pretty sure a tapeworm is coming my way. I don’t know how this happened to me. I remember my mom and nana as spry, energetic women at my age so it can’t be genetics. And now I’m using old-fashioned words like “spry”. I thought I was so funny at 40: I liked to tell people that I was falling apart and my plan of attack was to just keep on walking if a body part dropped off. Ten years later it hurts too much to keep walking.

I thought I’d have a good amount of time before I began to feel this bad. But here we are. Early to bed and early to rise, makes this ole gal feel a new pain in her thighs.
