My husband spent a few days debating what to do when he could not find a bin to replace the one we have used for recycling for many years.
Going to Home Depot for several items he needed, I heard the sound of a struggle at the front door when he returned home. Yelling, “Do you need help?,” he grunted a response of no. The next sound I heard was that of wheels on our wood floors, followed by the arrival of a large blue trash can beside me. It was not that much shorter than my 5’ 2” height. Although I couldn’t see his face, as he demonstrated the smooth rolling capability of the new specialty container, I knew he was proud of his purchase. There are only two of us in our house. It seemed a bit overkill to require such a giant receptacle.
“Why does it feel like we are opening a restaurant?,” I asked. “Is a dumpster next?”
I am fairly certain that in that moment Mister Rain was thinking of a way to recycle me.
