I’ve Got To Open My Mouth To See What I’m Eating

Posted on November 7, 2018 By Sister Rain

Salads. Nachos.
I placed the order or made them myself,
so I know the ingredients.
And yet, every bite is a mystery
when you can’t see what’s on your fork,
unknown to me
until the taste explodes on my tongue
or my teeth make contact with texture.
The delicious creation shown here
is every Christmas morning as a child,
my wedding shower, my 30th and 40th
birthdays combined.

SURPRISE!!!
