Life Is Like A Box Of Piper

Posted on June 9, 2017June 9, 2017 By Sister Rain

Finding Piper at the bird rescue, with so many wonderful birds in need of a forever family, really was like the Forrest Gump famous quote, “Life is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you’re gonna get.” But Piper was the first result to pop up when I searched for a young-male-conure near our zip code and after several visits to the rescue, and interacting with him and other birds, we brought him home. I don’t want to give you the impression that Piper or my husband and I knew definitively what we were getting, but we did know there was no turning back.

Approaching our fifth anniversary of being a family, Piper still surprises us and keeps us on our ten toes to his four. But in moments similar to the one captured above, he is the truly the sweetest bird on earth.

***Disclaimer***:
Chocolate is poisonous to birds so of course we carefully checked the box before we gave it to Piper.
