I quickly learned how to work the TV remote by feel when I lost my sight. I never look at it, I would only be able to see the buttons if I brought it very close to my face and even then, the printing on the device is too small for me to read.
It has become a bit of a party trick when we have people over. Someone will notice me changing the channel without moving my head from the conversation we are having and they comment on it. Many have wanted to try it for themselves.
The circumstances of our life are the catalyst for our superpowers. I may not be more powerful than a locomotive or able to leap tall buildings in a single bound but I can access our DVR faster than a speeding bullet.
