Every Saturday after grocery shopping for the week, my husband and Piper sit on the floor by the open refrigerator, cleaning it out and reorganizing before new groceries are put away.
On one particular weekend, Mister Rain placed a loaf of stale bread on the step stool next to the fridge to be taken out to our backyard for the birds. Piper immediately climbed down my husband’s back to the bread bag, sitting atop it, chewing the bag and the bread. He ate neither, his only interest was in making breadcrumbs. And apparently a mess.
