You know that feeling of entering someone’s house, being greeted by the host or hostess? Or how wonderful it is to welcome someone into your home?
Pulling into the Grizzly Mini Mart & Gas in Mariposa, California, 30 miles from Yosemite National Park, my husband and I were met by a grizzly . . . at the end of the gas pumps.
Unexpected and just plain fun, Mr. Bear symbolically invited us into the nearby home of El Capitan and Half Dome. It would be the first and last bear we would see during our time in California.
During a tour we took in in Yosemite I learned a little about grizzlies including the fact that they eat berries, grass, flowers and pinecones. I can’t speak for other bears, but this guy was a little gassy.
