A Very Scary Ode

Brought down from the attic, five days ago
Decorations for Halloween and fall
Pumpkins and ghosts and witches and leaves
Remain packed in their bins in the hall.
What’s the delay? I haven’t a clue
But I seem to be approaching it slow
Put off much longer, there’ll be no more “Boo!”
Instead, Merry Christmas and “Ho! Ho! Ho!”
