Call The Doctor! My Blog Has An Ethos!

Posted on January 7, 2016 By Sister Rain

I have always been a lover of a good quote. When I see one that makes me gasp, stops me in my tracks or makes my heart do a little flip-flop, it begins to take root in me. It becomes ammunition in my intellectual, emotional and often spiritual arsenal.

I often find these passages in the books I read. I just finished reading Alan Cumming’s memoir, Not My Father’s Son. Towards the end of the book he writes:

It’s actually quite a good ethos for life: go into the unknown with
truth, commitment, and openness and mostly you’ll be okay.

This is exactly my intent for this blog. And if my blog is my life and my life is my blog, then my life should follow this credo as well. I don’t know what the future holds, but I do know those three characteristics will get me there.

And rum. I am definitely committed to rum. A toast to openness and truth!
