Yesterday during my annual appointment with my neuro-ophthalmologist, I had images taken of my optic nerves. The technician taking the pictures asked me what had happened (to my vision) and I told her and she replied, “I would rather be deaf than blind.”
I don’t know sign language but I do know a hand gesture entirely appropriate for what I wanted to say.
