Dear Weather Channel:
I am not a meteorologist nor do I play one on TV.
I have, however, been an eye-witness to a weather phenomenon over a twenty-year period. Feel free to rename the event, but we call it THT (Thunderstorm Humidity Tuesday). The cause of THT? My weekday-warrior husband plays softball on Tuesday evenings beginning tonight through the end of August. You can count on lightening and/or humidity for the next 16+ Tuesdays.
It is very warm here already and the calendar just turned to May. In further support of THT, this evening we are to have our first thunderstorm of 2015. In May. On the night of my husband’s first game.
Please get the word out to your viewers. I recommend they take a black Sharpie and color in Tuesdays until September. They should make no plans for those days. I suggest that they think of Tuesdays as snow days. They can rent some movies and hunker down. They need to stay cool and dry. I’ll be doing the same alone in my house while my THT catalyst takes the field in the rain and heat or waits out a thunderstorm in his car.
If Jim Cantore would like to come to investigate, we would love to have him for dinner. We”ll grill some steaks. Unless it’s a Tuesday. Never on a Tuesday.
