Even though it snowed on Monday, I have started my spring cleaning, beginning with our window blinds. We have a total of four in the house and that is four too many. I use a cleaning rag and soapy water and wipe each slat, feeling my way from one end to the other. I count the rows as I go to keep track of where I’m at in the removal of the winter dust created by our hard-working heater.
Of course I can’t see the accumulation on the blinds nor do I need these or other window coverings, as it always seems like a cloudy day to me and as if the lights are turned down low. But It’s getting done and I’ve got the sore arms and cut fingers to show for it. If I’ve ever wanted to play the get-out-of-housework-free card, this tedious, painful chore would be a top choice. But as I have said multiple times, the one thing I know for sure is this: Life goes on.
And dirt happens.
