Every day, all over the world, phones are stolen out of airport security bins because they are sitting solo in the TSA tray. Help prevent this from happening to you by stowing your phone in your backpack, tote or purse, instead of placing it in a bin by itself which screams, “Here’s my phone! Go ahead and take it!”
You know how it is, your belongings ride down the conveyor belt and through the x-ray machine much faster than you do. Inevitably, you are pulled out of line for a pat down (without dinner first) while anyone can easily grab your single device left to its own devices. Or, the person in front of you repeatedly sets off the metal detector, requiring them to empty their pockets one content at a time, causing a bottleneck of passengers, while your unattended articles wait for you to catch up with them on the other side of the screening process.
There is a great amount of irony in that most of us can’t stand to be away from our phones for more than a minute, yet here we are leaving them alone and exposed.
Don’t make your phone fend for itself. The only thing you should have stolen at the airport is your dignity during that pat down.
