As I edited stories, Piper sat on my left shoulder. I use a large spiral-bound notebook and a Sharpie (click here for And Then I Had An Inkling) to write down my changes and had picked the book up to bring it close to my face to see something I had previously jotted down. Before I could place it back on the table, Piper had crawled down to my chest, walked across from my left to my right, getting himself on the spiral rings holding the pages together. Then he began to climb up them, his rubbery tongue reaching out to random places on the paper. I held the notebook upright to keep him balanced on the binding.
Well, this was something new.
What was not new was my productivity coming to a full stop at the zygodactyls of Piper. On the other hand, I’ll start anything with this little guy until his tail and the rest of him is done. And there will be no editing required.
