As I wrote about in “Spoiled Water” (click here), my husband occasionally takes Piper on a car ride when he goes to our favorite farm stand or a location where he doesn’t have to leave the car and Piper alone.
At a McDonald’s drive-through to get coffee for him and me, the person at the window was startled to find a bird riding shotgun. Mister Rain could hear the gentleman say to his co-workers inside, “There’s a bird in this car.” When the man handed our beverages to my husband, he said, “I’m sorry. I only have dog treats.”
Recently Piper had his first visit to a gas station. He looked all around while Mister Rain filled the tank. It is funny to think that people were walking by, pulling up on the other side of the pumps, none the wiser that a parrot was watching them.
If you work at a place that gives out canine snacks, start stocking Nutri-Berries please. (IYKYN) Where Piper will show up next is anyone’s guess!
