Never Forget, Always Stand Up

Posted on September 11, 2017September 12, 2017 By Sister Rain

I took this picture of the Freedom Tower through the sunroof of our car as we drove by it recently. Terrorist attacks. Hurricanes. We stand up and we stand tall.

Life can be extremely to the nth degree difficult, something, I believe, we aren’t really taught growing up or if we are, we are unable to comprehend it. But as surprised as I have been by this fact, our ability to move forward after tragedy has astonished me even more.

We may not know where we are headed initially after devastation but we move forward anyway. It is incredibly hard, impossible at times, and it hurts. God, does it hurt. But every day we put our feet on the floor and stand up, we honor all we have lost and find our future. One stand up at a time.
