It is always nice to bring home a memento from a trip, it used to be t-shirts and newspapers (my husband loves out-of-town papers) but over time, we began to look for items we could display in our home. We have also begun to collect radio stations in our travels, now that we can listen on our devices from anywhere. Mister Rain fell in love with 97.7 ACK FM Nantucket, requesting a baseball hat the Christmas after we visited the island. A free car window cling arrived with the cap, it immediately went on our Pennsylvania registered SUV. He plays the channel when working in the garage or paying bills.
I found my own radio station to enjoy when in the Seattle area, Warm 106.9 FM. I put it on when I am Sister Rain’ing, while I am working out.
Both the Nantucket and Seattle channels offer different music selections than what we normally gravitate towards, it is refreshing. The biggest draw, however, is hearing the advertisements for businesses that we now can picture from seeing them in person. We are instantly transported to vacation, we are reminded of time spent away from the daily grind.
When you find your jam you don’t want to leave it behind. In this time of technology minimizing distance in almost every way, your jam can come home with you. With no risk of breakage in your suitcase.
