Sister Rain’s Note:
In July 2015 I began a series of posts about Piper, my now 17-year-old orange-fronted conure (a type of parrot) who adopted Mister Rain and me when he was 6. I don’t intend to republish previous content on this site but I think the story of Piper and me is worth retelling to all who are new to Sister Rain. During the next several Fridays I will repost the Love Story chapters I had written almost nine years ago. Rest assured, there is a lot more where these came from. There always is when you’re talking about the great loves of your life.

PART 9.5
Originally Published September 20, 2015
Today’s post was to be a continuation of A Love Story, but I’m not feeling a lot of love for a certain little birdie, aka Bitey McBitestein.
The picture shows the bite as a tiny crescent mark, but it really hurts! That spot on my finger was bit a lot when Piper first joined our family. Can you say “scar tissue’?
What caused our gentle, sweet boy to return to using his beak for evil? The same thing that causes our ten-year-old nephew to head for zee hills — bath time.
This completes the retelling of Parts 1-9.5, originally published in 2015. Nine years later, there is a lot more to share. We haven’t even gotten to the real love but we will. I’ll be writing new parts in the coming weeks. You’ve had your binging of season 1. Season 2 will be coming soon!
